Sick pay is the temporary incapacity benefit in article 18 of Law 5510. Daily earnings, under article 17, are pensionable earnings in the 12 months before the incapacity started divided by premium days in the same period. The “last 3 months” rule still sitting on many sites is not in force.

On minimum wage daily earnings are 1,101 TL. Daily outpatient benefit is 734 TL, inpatient 550.50 TL. On a 10-day illness report the first two days are dropped; outpatient total is 5,872 TL.
Which day is paid
- Illness: the first two days are unpaid. 90 short-term premium days in the last year are required.
- Work accident and occupational disease: paid from the first day. No premium-day condition.
- If premium days in the last 12 months are under 180, daily earnings cannot exceed 2,202 TL.
- Daily earnings cannot fall below 1,101 TL or exceed 9,909 TL.
The chart is for 4/a workers. A 4/b insured person has no illness benefit. Maternity benefit is calculated separately; it has been 168 days since 1 May 2026.
